Facebook Confirmation Code Not Arriving by Email: Fixes
When you sign up with an email, Facebook sends a confirmation code to that address. The code is often shown in the subject line, sometimes in the form FB-12345. If nothing arrives, check the address, look in junk and the Social or Promotions tabs, wait a few minutes, and resend once. If it still does not come, Facebook has probably decided not to send it yet. That happens a lot with new accounts.
Be realistic before you pay for anything. Facebook is one of the hardest services for email codes, and its rate changes from month to month. Over the last 30 days, 79% of the Facebook rentals on OTPGmail received a code. So try the fixes below first. They cost nothing.
How Facebook confirms a new account
You fill in the sign-up form with your name, date of birth and email, and choose a password. Facebook then asks for the code it emailed to you. On the same screen you can usually ask Facebook to send the email again, or change the email address. Until you enter the code, the account is not fully set up, and Facebook may limit what you can do.
Facebook's emails come from its own domains, such as facebookmail.com. Be wary of any other sender that asks for your code or your password.
Fixes to try first
- Check the address. A single wrong letter sends the code somewhere else. If the address is wrong, change it on the confirmation screen.
- Search the whole mailbox. In Gmail, check the Social and Promotions tabs and the junk folder. In any mailbox, search for "Facebook" and "facebookmail".
- Wait, then resend once. Give it at least five minutes. Resend only once, and use the newest code if several arrive.
- Keep the same setup. Finish the sign-up on the same device and browser, or in the same app, without switching halfway.
- Use a stable connection. Turn off any VPN. If it still fails, try once on mobile data instead of Wi-Fi.
- Confirm by phone if offered. If Facebook offers to confirm with a text message to your own number, you can use that instead.
Why Facebook often holds the code back
Facebook checks every new sign-up. If something looks risky to it, Facebook may not send the email code at all. It may also ask for more: a phone number, a captcha, or a short selfie video. New accounts can even be suspended soon after sign-up, and nothing on the email side can change that. Facebook makes these decisions.
This is also why the delivery rate for Facebook is more uneven than for most services. When Facebook decides not to send a code, a different inbox will not always help.
Facebook's rule: one personal account per person
Meta's terms say each person should create only one account, their own, and use it for personal purposes. Facebook offers other tools for other needs:
- Extra profiles for different interests can be added inside your one account.
- Businesses and brands use Pages, managed from your personal account.
- App developers should use the testing tools Meta provides for developers, not real personal accounts.
So do not use rented inboxes to create several personal Facebook accounts. That breaks Facebook's terms, and Facebook may suspend those accounts.
When renting a Gmail inbox makes sense
A rented inbox fits a narrow case: the sign-up step of your one account. Use it when your usual email never receives Facebook's mail, or when you prefer to keep your main email out of it. Here is how it works on OTPGmail:
- On the rent page, pick Facebook and choose the inbox type. You are charged only when an address is issued.
- Paste the address into Facebook's sign-up form.
- If Facebook sends the code, it appears on your order page. When the code does come, it usually takes about 2 minutes.
- If no code arrives within the waiting time (25 minutes at most), the order cancels itself with a 100% refund.
Two honest notes. First, once the code has arrived, the rental is final. If Facebook later asks for more checks or suspends the account, the rental is not refunded. Second, a rented inbox receives codes only during the order period. Right after sign-up, add your own phone number or a permanent email in your Facebook settings. Otherwise you may not be able to recover the account later.
Check live prices and the current rate on the Facebook inbox page. Our guide to renting a Gmail for Facebook verification covers the sign-up in more detail. Do not retry again and again in a short time. It rarely helps, and it can lead to more checks.
Existing account: get the code to the email on file
Do you need a login code for an account you already have? Facebook sends it only to the email or phone on that account, so a new inbox cannot receive it. Use Forgot password? on the login screen and choose a contact you still have. If you lost the email account itself, recover it with your email provider first. Ignore anyone who offers to recover your Facebook account for money.

Frequently asked questions
Why is Facebook not sending the confirmation code to my Gmail?
Check the Social and Promotions tabs and the junk folder, and search for "facebookmail". If the email is not there, Facebook probably held the code back because the sign-up looked risky to it. Wait, resend once, and confirm by phone if Facebook offers that option.
How long does the Facebook confirmation code take?
It often arrives within a few minutes. On rented inboxes at OTPGmail, codes that do arrive usually take about 2 minutes. If nothing has come by the end of the waiting time (25 minutes at most), Facebook most likely did not send it. In that case the rental is refunded automatically.
I got the code, but Facebook disabled the account. Is that refunded?
No. Once the first code has arrived, the rental is complete and cannot be cancelled or refunded. What Facebook does with the account after that is outside OTPGmail's control.
Can I use a Gmail OTP for Facebook on my old account?
No. For an existing account, Facebook sends codes only to the email or phone already on that account. Use Forgot password and Facebook's recovery steps instead.
My Facebook email verification code is not working. What now?
You may be typing an older code, because a new request can replace the previous one. Use the newest email only. If the code is still refused, wait a while before you request another one.
